How to keep your flower bed bright, beautiful, and weed free

The following is how to keep your flower bed bright, beautiful, and weed free:

1. Prepare bed before planting. If you want your flowers to blossom large, and you want to keep the weeds out, you can't just stick them in dirt and expect them to grow. You will want to fertilize your bed a few weeks before planting. Make sure the soil is rich in nutrients, and use a good potting soil on the top layer to deter weeds. You will also want to till it up so there is air, and a good place for roots to establish.

2. Plant bright and beautiful flowers. If you want your flower bed to be bright and beautiful you will want to plant bright and beautiful flowers. Make sure you do not plant them when it is so super hot out, otherwise they may get scorched by the sun before the roots ever have a chance to get settled in. choose colors that go well together. It is amazing how many colors of flowers there are, from reds and yellows to blues and purples, it is good to have a bright and beautiful color variety for a bright and beautiful flower bed. You can section of sides and portions for different colors, or just mix them all up. That is up to you and your taste.

3. Maintain your bed. Once the flowers are planted your job is not done. You will want to weed frequently, and consider spot weed treatments. You will want to make sure the soil stays at the right moisture level, and that wind, etc. does not diminish the quality of the bed. So, clear out dead leaves, twigs, etc. and make sure your bed looks nice to those on the street.

4. Water. To have bright beautiful flower beds that are weed free you have to water your beds frequently. However, over watering is just as bad as under-watering, and there is no set amount you should water. So, what you should do is simply check the beds before watering. The beds should have some moisture, but not so much that they are wet to the touch. If you have a bed in the shade it is going to need far less watering then a bed in direct sunlight, so let that help you judge, and talk to your local nursery about what they recommend for your area, flower choice, etc.

5. Weed. If you want to have a weed free flower bed you have to pull weeds when they come up. If you prepared your bed before planting and got rid off all of the weeds, etc. you should not have to weed often, but it is still important to do so if weeds pop up. Set a time each week, such as early Saturday morning to scan your flower beds and pull any weeds.

6. Fertilize. To be bright and beautiful flowers need food. If your soil is not rich in nutrients, it is a good idea to fertilize your flower beds once every 6-8 weeks. Be sure to keep the kind of fertilizer you use appropriate for the plant. So, use nitrogen for some, phosphorous for others. Talk to your local nursery for fertilizing tips.

7. Constant care and love. For bright and beautiful flower beds that are weed free you have to treat them with TLC. So, pretend they are a child and give them the constant care and love they deserve, feed and water them appropriately, keep them clean, protect them from too harsh of sun, etc.
