Living with pets, pros and cons:

Probably every parent has heard their child ask for this or that pet. While children are young the idea of having a pet is very exciting for them. Some parents allow their children to have pets while some parents do not. It is really a matter of personal preference. However, some parents may refuse to let their children have pets simply because they have not taken the time to sit down and think about the pros and cons of having pets. There are some good points on either side. Here are a few of them:

Pros:
First of all, pets can be very fun and friendly. They can be great companions for children. Children will not just see them as animals but as playmates. Some children are very shy and love to have pets as confidants.

Pros:
Fun, friendly - good for children

Teach children things such as responsibility, caring.love for living things

Safety (certain dogs)

Cons:
Messy

Needs attention.whether it is a lot or just a little

Health risks, especially if they defend themselves when upset

Just be smart about choosing and allowing them
