- Aluminum blinds: For aluminum blinds, you will need to use soft dust cloths. These are also known as chemically tested dust clothes. If you don't have any dust clothes, than a ordinary vacuum with the dust attachments should do fine. If you don't have either of these, any ordinary house aids should work. For example dust off, is a good kind of dust remover. Also anything you usually use to clean off dust is fine.
- Wood blinds:
You must be careful when cleaning real wood blinds. Washing the blinds is not recommended with any kind of wood. Although the wood is protected from water it doesn't mean that the wood cannot be ruined due to water, even perspiration could cause this.
Because the surface of the wood is smooth you shouldn't have any problem with using a dust wipe or any kind of dust remover. Also a vacuum would work perfect. - Fabric shades
Shades with fabric on them can be cleaned with a vacuum. All you have to do is apply the proper attachment and vacuum your blinds. Also be careful when you clean these shades they have a tendency to tear.
- How to vacuum? This is very self-explanatory; all you need to do is apply the correct attachment to the mouthpiece of the vacuum. Than slowly wipe the surface of the blind on front and back, then do this to the rest of the blinds.
- How to dust?
Either you can use a soft clean cloth, or you can use a chemically tested dust cloth both will work fine. Then tilt the blind so you can first do the top than turn it over and do the bottom and follow this routine with all the rest of the blinds. - How to wash?
All that you need to do is apply warm water to a washcloth and wipe the blind on both sides and repeat this with all of the slides.

The squeegee is also known as the T sponge. Any large sponge should work but it can make the job harder, and you might not get as good results. Also you will need to buy washcloths if you don't have any.
- To prevent any spills you should lay a towel of some kind down on the floor next to the window so you don't get your floor wet when you are cleaning your windows.
- You can either use window cleaner or if you don't have any, hot soapy water should do just fine. Be sure that you don't use car wash because that has wax in it and can ruin your windows.
- Now you are ready to begin first you will want to prepare by moving blinds, furniture etcetera. Next place the T bar into the water and squeeze out most of the water with your hand before applying to the window.
