Tips for cleaning kitchen surfaces

Here are some great tips for cleaning kitchen surfaces. It can be a challenge for any good cleaner to bring shine to your kitchen surfaces. However, there are ways to get it done.

There are some cautions to be aware of before you choose the products you want to use to clean your kitchen surfaces. The tops of many surfaces can be scratched or stained by harsh and abrasive cleaners.

Here are some different types of cleaners you can try for cleaning kitchen surfaces:

One of the best cleaners for kitchen surfaces is good old vinegar. You can use a little undiluted vinegar on just about every surface of your kitchen. The smell is not that bad, and will fade as the vinegar dries.

A soft cleanser that works well on most any surface is a diluted amount of water and a couple squirts of Ivory liquid dish soap. This smells great and is a nice softer cleaner that gets rid of the basic dirt and grease that plagues our kitchen surfaces.

For stain removal you will want to get a little tougher. However, this does not mean you will want to damage the surfaces. So for a good stain, try a mixture of 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% water. This will remove many of the stains on counter tops, dishes, and appliances. Blot the hydrogen peroxide and water mixture on the stain for up to 30 minutes. Then wash clean with water.

When cleaning marble, it is important to not use any type of harsh cleaners. The best idea is going to be the soft Ivory liquid with water mixture. It is a bad idea, to use anything with strong cleansers or abrasive cleansers because they will likely damage the marble. The vinegar and orange-based cleansers are also likely to damage the surfaces of marble.

When cleaning tile you need to be able to get into the cracks. The cleaner you use needs to be able to clean deep into those cracks, without harming the actual tiles. Cleaning the grout is hard. So the best resolution to a spill on the grout is immediate cleaning. However the hydrogen peroxide mixture of 50% water will also work for spills that stain a bit in the grout. Make sure that there is a good sealant on the tiles so the spills do not get into the grout where it cannot be cleaned.

When you are cleaning stainless steel surfaces, with boiling water. Be careful to not get burned. Wear rubber gloves. And try to prevent spills from sitting. The scratches that occur on these types of surfaces are difficulty if not impossible to remove.

You can use a foaming tube and tile cleanser on any of your appliances or surfaces that are upright for a better clean. You need to be able to let the cleaner sit onto the surface so that the dirt and grim is removed.

Caution Tips

Use caution when using orange based cleaner. They smell great, but can cause a break down in the rubber of some appliances. The petroleum distillates tend to cause a break down in the rubbers contents. So use these cleaners in the sinks, etc, but not around the edges of the stove or refrigerator.

Harsh abrasive cleansers like comet or those types can really damage the surfaces of your appliances, and countertops so use caution when cleaning with these.

These are tips for cleaning kitchen surfaces. Take some time to read some labels and see what will work best for your type of kitchen surfaces.
