Are you tired of purchasing and planting new plants in your yard every year? One of the ways that you can avoid planting every single year is by purchasing perennial plants. Perennial plants are plants that are able to come back year after year! Perennial gardening is a very popular form of gardening today, particularly because people often don't want to replant their yard every year. There are many different types of perennial plants available, which include many flowers like foxglove, roses, delphinium, and poppies.

Perennial gardening often involves a lot more planning than other types of gardening. For example, perennial gardeners will need to take into consideration that they will have the same plants come up every year. This could mean that perennial gardeners will have to do extra activities to take care of these perennial plants, such as pruning. Roses are a perennial plant which needs to be pruned every year in order to ensure large, healthy blooms. In the early spring or late fall, you should plan on pruning your roses.

Perennial gardening also involves garden planning at a more intense level than annual gardening. For example, it is a good idea to figure out when each of your perennial flowers are going to bloom during the warm months. If you plan the locations of your perennial flowers well, then you will be able to have different areas of your garden in bloom at different points of time. This will ensure that your garden will always be colorful! In addition, this will also ensure that you can spread out your gardening work a little bit, since you will be able to focus on different perennials at their blooming times. This way, you won't exhaust yourself taking care of a whole bunch of different perennials, especially if you have a very large garden!

Another thing that you need to be aware of is that perennial gardening is a little bit more expensive at the onset. Perennial plants are a little bit more expensive to purchase than annual plants. One way that you can purchase perennial plants is by getting starter plants. Starter plants can be can be bought from a greenhouse or a local gardening store. You also can get perennial plants from seeds. If you do this, it is recommended that you grow the perennial plants from seeds in a starter container, and then move the starter plant into your garden bed when it is large enough and healthy enough to live on its own.

In addition, perennial plants also need care at the end of the warm season. You might need to prune or cut down your perennial plant to prepare it against the cold weather. In addition, many people prefer to spread a layer of dead flowers or compost over their perennial plants before the snow begins to fall. This will help to keep the soil warmer during the winter, so that your perennial plants will not be hurt. In addition, the compost will help to keep your soil rich and full of humus for your perennial plants.

As you can see, perennial gardening is a little bit different than annual gardening. One of the biggest differences between perennial gardening and other types of gardening because it requires more planning. In addition, perennial gardening also is a little bit more expensive at the beginning, but you will probably save money over time from not buying annual plants every year. Furthermore, perennial gardening is different because you will need to plan where you place these perennials so that they will continually bloom in different parts of the garden. In addition, you will need to plan ahead and set apart time so that you can take care of the perennial plants at the end of the warm months. Good luck and have fun with your perennial plants!
