Why a compost heap is a good idea
Why a compost heap is a good idea. Whatever type of gardening you do, there are benefits to having a compost heap. You will end up having organic waste from your gardening anyway. So why not make the most of your grass clippings, leaves and dead plants. They do not need to be just thrown away.
It is a real waste of money to have these organic materials hauled away, when you will need to purchase fertilizer for your yard and garden. So alternatively you will be saving money, helping the environment and helping your garden grow by working up a good compost heap.

Here is why this is all such a good idea. Rather than using a fertilizer or chemical mixture for your gardening you can use the organic materials in your compost heap to help your garden grow. This is more natural and better for your overall health.
If you use the right process for creating your compost heap, the decomposition of the garbage will create a higher level of nutrition for your other plants. This means that the fruits, and other vegetation will be healthier and better.
When you create a compost heap, it is a good idea to have it in a place in your back yard. The heap should be a little ways away from your garden. But, close enough to be convenient for use. If you have a compost heap, it is likely to attract rodents and birds away from your garden, as long as it is not right next to it. Also, keep the compost pile dry and oxygenated. This way you will avoid that nasty smell people talk about. That means you do need to mix it all up every so often to get the oxygen to the buried parts of the compost pile.
Try to created a small wooded framed area that is separate from the other garden and vegetation. It does not need to be overly large, and can be back away from the view of visitors. The small wooden barrier will also prevent spilling out of the compost.
For the most part you will save on garbage space by having a compost pile. There are some limitations of what should be put into the pile. Nothing that is not able to degrade down to basic substance. If you put paper, or newspaper in the pile, there should never be more than 1/5 of paper to the rest of the compost. Though, for the most part you can add just about anything that will decompose. For example, table scraps, old food, yard clippings, trimmings, etc.
When you think about the way that original plants would start life all over again after a good season. It is simply because the plants were left on the ground, decomposed and a new life cycle took place. This is also why the vegetation was much healthier.
Compost is not the process of the cycle of plan life. However the nutrients that come from those plants are again put into the plants when the compost is used.
Thus creating an overall healthier garden and yard. Why not get all you can out of the things you grow and buy. Don't throw away the good stuff. Simply put creating a good compost heap has its benefits and is a good idea all the way around. This is why the process of decomposition is still something that happens all around the world.
