Becoming a better person by tapping into your inner strength to get motivated
If you would like to become a better person but do not have the motivation to do so, here are so suggestions to help you become motivated:
1. Often times, the quickest way of becoming motivated is to "just do it." Simply begin to take the steps needed to accomplish whatever it is you are want to get done. Once you begin, the sense of accomplishment usually takes over and keeps you going. It is the getting started that's the hard part.

2. Do nothing, just close the door, close your eyes and do nothing for fifteen minutes. Don't turn on the radio or TV, get a cup of coffee or agonize over all the things you need to do. Just do nothing. If you have not done this before, you most likely will start having all kinds of thoughts about what needs to be done racing around in your head. Try not to worry about them, just recognize the thoughts and let them go. During this fifteen minutes of nothing, concentrate on your breathing. This fifteen minutes of doing nothing will work wonders for clearing your head and reducing anxiety and stress so that you can become motivated to tackle any challenge or obstacle.
3. You will get the mental energy flowing, and become motivated by getting your body moving. Take a short walk or go to the gym. Great ideas are often thought of during the midst of physical activity, so get your body moving and the blood flowing to your brain.
4. Listen to some upbeat music that you enjoy. Music can raise your heart rate and put you in the mood to get going. You can increase the chances of becoming motivated by dancing to the music. This may not work in all situations but it will not hurt.
5. Your lack of motivation may be caused by doing the same things, day after day. Try doing something different like taking a class or volunteering. You can even try reading a book in an area or on a topic you have not explored in the past. This can bring new insight or inspiration. You can also try working on an unfinished project or a hobby.
6. Try doing something for someone else. This takes the focus off of you and even if you do not become motivated, you will feel better about yourself for helping someone. You could visit an elderly or sick relative or call an old friend you have not spoken to in awhile, join a community organization, help your local church, or volunteer at the food kitchen.
7. Take a vacation or small getaway. Everyone needs some time to relax and take a break. If you have not taken a vacation in quite some time and regularly work over on the weekends and round the clock, motivation may not be the real problem. It may be exhaustion or burnout. Take a few days or even a day away from it all. This can not only help you to become motivated but offer a fresh, new perspective as well.
Now that you have motivation, you can begin to work on becoming a better person. Start by making a conscious effort to be less judgmental of other's. Being judgmental is a waste of time and can cause you to miss out on opportunities and meaningful relationships. Always look for and acknowledge the good in yourself and in others. You may not be able to make other people be more considerate, helpful or honest but you can use your inner strength to develop these attributes and become the person you want to be.
