Finding out what motivates you can be a challenge in itself and can be very rewarding once you find out what it is. Before you can find out what motivates you, you have to find out who you are as a person. Finding out who you are and what you want will help you to find out what can motivate you to keep you going in your daily, personal and work life. Finding your motivation will help you to become more creative and will help you to excel in your life and its surroundings. Use the following examples and tips to find out what can motivate you.

As you start searching to find out what gets you motivated, list down different ideas that you have. Writing down your ideas will help you to see and envision what you can do to help you get motivated. Finding ideas and ways that can get you motivated is the first and most difficult step. List ideas that are appealing to you and that you can see yourself enjoying. It can be anything from listening to a certain type of music to training for a marathon. You may have to try new things to get your motivated.

Choose one of your ideas and try it. Say you decide to listen to some rock music to get yourself motivated to clean the house. Start by selecting what CD or music station you are going to listen, you can even put it on your i Pod or mp3 player, turn it up and get going. If you find the music is motivating you, you know that you have found a way that can help you to get and stay motivated.

Now that you have found a way to keep get you motivated, keep yourself motivated by setting goals. Make yourself some short term or mini goals and long term goals. Make the goals ones that you know you can reach and achieve. Once you start reaching the smaller goals work towards your long term goal. Give yourself a reward when you meet your goal. Make it a reward that you have wanted to do or get for a long time.

It could be taking a trip to somewhere you have always wanted to go or it could be buying a new car or even getting a tattoo. Make sure that you reward yourself when you meet your goals with something you want. Doing this will help you to stay motivated and will keep you going.

We all do it; we walk in the house after a long day at work or school and we sit down on the couch and turn the television or computer on. Once we have done this, all motivation for the rest of the day or evening is lost. We have become wrapped up in something new and have lost our focus. Work at getting into the habit of leaving the television or computer off until you have finished your tasks or met your goals. Making television or the computer one of your goals is a great way to keep yourself motivated. For example, you want to cook dinner right when you get home and get the laundry started and walk the dog after dinner.

You get home after a long day at work and you are exhausted. You walk in and see the couch and television looking at you. Look away and start on your tasks you want to do. Remind yourself that you can watch television when you are done with dinner, laundry and walking the dog. This will not only help you to meet your goals and keep yourself motivated, but it will help to have confidence in yourself.
