Get motivated to get thin

Many people want to lose weight and be thin, whether it's fitting back into the jeans they wore in college or getting back to their weight before a baby. Getting thin, however, is hard work and is as much mental as it is physical.
That's why motivation is important. Your motivation is what will give you the push to start your plan to get thin and keep going when you hit plateaus or roadblocks.

Set goals.
It's hard to achieve something without knowing what it is exactly that you're after, so make sure you write down goals and objectives. While your overall goal may be to "get thin," setting smaller goals along the way (as well as deadlines and dates to reach them). Your smaller goals could be things like exercising 5 times a week, cutting out sweets, drinking more water, counting calories, lifting weights, and so forth. Write down your goals and post them where you'll see them.
Make a plan.
One great way to get motivated is to make a plan to get thin. Without a plan to map out how you are going to achieve your goal of getting thin, it will be easy to get sidetracked or lose your motivation. Your plan should include daily steps you will take to get thin. This could include when and where you are going to exercise and when, what you are going to eat that day, and so forth. Write it down, and refer to your plan daily.
In addition, don't be afraid to change what isn't working. For example, perhaps you initially decided to exercise in the mornings, but after a few days of that found that it's easier to exercise in the evenings. Change your plan as needed to suit your needs, and you will be better able to stay motivated.
Get out the photos.
One of the best ways to get motivated to get thin is to look at photos. Find some photographs of yourself when you were thin or at a lower weight, then find some as you are now, or in an unflattering angle. Refer to them often and think of how much happier you were thin, or how much happier you will be thin. When you start to lose motivation, look at them.
Reward yourself.
You should reward yourself for milestones you reach in your efforts to get thin. This is a great way to get motivated. Make a list of things you would like or are looking forward to as a reward, and a list of things you will need to do to get them. For example, you can treat yourself to a new movie or CD if you exercise every day for a week. Or, you can buy the new shoes you've been wanting when you lose 10 pounds. Rewards for milestones will help get and keep you motivated to get thin.
Weigh the benefits
Another way you can get motivated to get thin is to write out the benefits of losing weight. These could include clothes fit better, more confidence, more energy, and many more. When you see how much better you will feel and look after writing down the benefits, you're sure to be motivated!
