Get motivated to work, easy as 123
Getting motivated to work can be difficult. It does not matter if it is working at your home business, working hard at work, on your yard, cleaning your home, etc. Everyone seems to struggle to get motivated to work, but now you can get motivated to work as easy as 1-2-3. How? Follow these three steps:
Step one: Outline your plan of action. Most people have a hard time getting motivated to work because the task seems overwhelming. However, if you break it down into manageable or "bite sized" pieces, then it becomes less of an obstacle. So, take the work that needs to be done and outline it. You can break it down by hour, by job, or by section. Whatever works best for you, do that. So, for example, if you have a certain amount of work that needs to be done, say "I will do this much before I do this." Then do it. Schedule yourself breaks and make sure the way you break up the work is logical. For example, if the whole house needs to be cleaned, break it down into small jobs: take out trash, make beds, gather laundry, scrub toilets, etc. Then as you do each thing you can cross it out, and feel like you are accomplishing something. Instead of "clean kitchen" which is several small jobs all in one, say "do dishes, sweep floor, clean out fridge" etc. Suddenly the insurmountable becomes mountable.

Step two: Make your work environment one conducive to work. If you own a home business and you are trying to run your business in your bed room, having clothes piled on your desk is not going to help you get motivated to work. Having unfilled papers scattered everywhere, and clutter is a bad idea. So, reduce and simplify, set up a space devoted to work, and keep it neat, organized and clean. This will help you feel like working because you are not overwhelmed by other things. Also, by creating a good environment for work you eliminate many distractions, and thus being motivated to work becomes that much simpler.
Step three: Reward yourself. People work for something. Yes, your house will be clean, or you will get paid your salary, but often times that is not enough motivation. Why? Because it is not here and now, your house still has other things that need doing, and you may not get your check for a week or two. So, to get motivated to work, as you outline your work and stick in your breaks include rewards. For example, if you have your whole project finished by lunch, then during your lunch break you reward yourself by buying lunch instead of eating leftovers you reheat in the communal microwave. If you stay on task, or get ahead of schedule, reward yourself with a bubble bath that night, or buy a good book, a magazine, etc. Rewards do not have to be something you buy, you can reward yourself by sleeping in the next day and going in to work a little later because you are ahead of schedule. Or, you can reward yourself with indulging in some ice cream or something you have deprived yourself of. Rewarding yourself to work adds an extra ounce of motivation, and often that is all it takes. However, you have to stick to your guns, and only give yourself the reward if you actually do what you say you will do and work.
