Getting passion for your job
Many people daydream while they are working at a job they don't really love and they think about the "perfect job". The truth is, there isn't really a perfect job out there. Sure it would be nice to be a professional athlete and get tons of money for playing a sport you love, but they still face challenges with their jobs too. Far too often people think that if they can get a job they are passionate about it, they will absolutely love it.

When it comes down to it, passion is a human emotion. It doesn't exist in the job world; it is something we create on ourselves. You need to find passion within yourself in order to find satisfaction within your job. When you start to become frustrated with your job and question why you work there, make a list of all the good qualities of your job. Working on a team on a big project can become overwhelming and frustrating to many people, the only way to get over that is to look forward to the future with hope and anticipation. Having a list of all the positive things about your job can help you accomplish this.
Stop living in a "me" centered universe. Many of us become so selfish that we expect our employers to completely conform to our needs and desires. Don't live this way, it won't get you very far. Focus on living in the present and look for ways you can make your job better. If you are struggling, talk to your manager about either changing your job duties or consider moving to a different department in the company. Changing departments can really help to improve your motivation to work harder, especially if you have new job responsibilities to worry about. A change of environment will challenge the brain to grow and continue progressing.
A great way to find passion for your job is to start getting involved with the company. If you are naturally shy, now is the time to bust out of your shell and start talking to your co-workers. If you can establish friendships with the people you work with, it will be easier to find the motivation to get up for work in the morning. You have something to look forward to as you may want to share some information with some of your co-workers over a morning cup of coffee.
Look for ways to make your job better. Set a monthly goal for yourself and work hard to accomplish this goal. It could be something like making 5 new friendships at the office this month or accomplishing a project early. Try working on your relationships with customers and clients you interact with. Look for ways to make these interactions pleasant so you will look forward to their phone calls or the next interaction you have with them. When you are able to meet your goals, reward yourself. Do something fun with your co-workers like taking a long lunch and going to a movie or going to the gym and playing tennis during your lunch break.
Quit daydreaming about another job or other things that you would rather be doing instead of working. When you do this, you will decrease your own morale and it will be harder for you to find the motivation to come to work everyday. You don't have to absolutely love your job, but it does help to gain a passion for what you do so you have something to look forward to. Simply changing your outlook on your job will help you stay in a good job for a long time and this provides financial security for your family.
