Happiness is not something to just think is somewhat important, happiness is a serious subject. When we are happy our bodies function better, we do not suffer from problems like depression, and we are able to be more productive and have less stress. Being happy is not just something to consider. Your metabolic functions will be smoother, your body will be able to fight off toxins better, so you will even get sick less when you are happy. Happiness is a serious subject, so, let's take a look at how to be happy.

The first thing you must to do be happy is simple decide to be happy! People who have chosen to be happy will be less effected by things outside their control, like the weather, other people's driving, or the number of calories in their favorite ice cream.

Your mind is really effected by happiness. Depression is an illness which exists in the mind. Many people suffer from this, and are not sure what to do to change their state. What is important to recognize is that because it lies in the mind the cure and prevention lies with treating the mind. Being happy leaves no room for being depressed.

Your perceived situation
Your self confidence
Your thinking
Your motivation
Your faith
Your purpose
If you can learn to make each of these better and clear your happiness will increase, and your reasons for being unhappy will disappear, and you will be happier, more productive, and healthier.
So, to get happy, figure out what you are unhappy. Ask yourself why, and think of an answer. Now you might be thinking: I am unhappy because ......, or How can I be happy when ...., or I will be happy when....., and that is pretty normal. However, if you answered with any of these ways, you will find it very difficult to ever be happy. Why? Well, you are placing conditions on your happiness. What this means is that you cannot be happy now and you won't be happy at least until your conditions are met. However, most people are new ones again and again, so even if they meet previous conditions there are new reasons to be unhappy, and thus they never will be. Do you want to be one of these people? Who wants to live in a way that they are never happy?
So, what can you do? Well, you can decide to be happy now while you are working to achieve what you want and need.
Ok, but maybe you did not answer with the above reasons, maybe you said: you make me unhappy! Or If it wasn't for him I'd be happy, or How can I be happy after what he did to me? This is just as big of a problem because it means you are letting others control your happiness, and you are blaming others for your lack of happiness. What you have to realize is that happiness is a state of mind, and YOU are in charge of that, YOU are in charge of how you think. YOU are in charge of how you feel. You are the one who gets to choose to be happy or not. So, if you choose to be happy, are true to yourself, don't put conditions on your happiness, drop the future worry and the past regret, focus on positives not negatives, and really work on your self confidence and self esteem.
You have to teach yourself to be happy. Whether you are a mom who is struggling to find time for yourself, and feeling isolated, or a single who just feel unfulfilled. Many people are unhappy and for a variety of reasons, so choose to work on being happy. And teach yourself steps to happiness, such as, wake up each morning and smile, no matter what. Spend at least 30 minutes a day doing something you enjoy, and not letting others effect your mood.
