How being motivated improves your career

If you can get and stay motivated at work, your career inevitably improves. This seems obvious, and yet many fall into the hum drum of work each day, doing just what they can to scrape by and get their pay check. They go home from work stressed and unsatisfied, but getting paid. But with a little extra motivation, let's take a look at some of the ways it improves your career.

1. When you are motivated you finish your work faster and with higher quality outcomes. This means you will not be as stressed at work as you will be on time, on top of your responsibilities, not playing catch up, and still producing fabulous results. This means your career improves because you yourself can enjoy it more. You will go into work with clear purpose, and you will go home each night with a feeling of accomplishment, and peace, and be able to enjoy your evening because you are not worried about the things you did not get to during the day.

2. When you are motivated at work and you finish your work faster and with higher quality, your superiors notice your dedication, and you stand out above the rest. So, this means you get praise, and often more responsibility. This will help you to raise your level of self confidence and belief in your ability to accomplish your work and do a quality job. So, your career improves because your superiors are happy with you, and you have more confidence in yourself. This can only lead to good things.
3. When you are motivated at work, have found confidence in yourself, and have caught the eye of your superiors, this is like fast track to the top. You will get promotions, raises, and be considered for a new position over someone who has more qualifications but less motivation. So, it improves your career to be motivated because you literally make more money and get better positions. Bosses love the guy who works hard without being told, and the guy who does not need a lot of reminding and prodding. When you are motivated this is just what you do, you work harder without being asked. So, you get that notice, and you get promotions because you prove that you can be self motivated and can lead others instead of having someone always tell you everything that needs to be done.
These are just a few of the reasons that being motivated improves your career. Let's recap. When you are motivated you do a better job. You do that higher quality job faster, and this gets you noticed. Your boss is happier with you, and thus your work environment becomes more pleasant. You get praise, and a feeling of satisfaction at work. You go home each night happy with yourself and your day, and you return to work the next morning with clear purpose and direction. After doing this habitually others will start to notice, and you will likely get a promotion and a raise, which of course makes work that much easier because you get paid more for your time. If you continue in this cycle you just move closer and closer to the top, you find great satisfaction at work, others enjoy you and your company, and your career becomes what you always imagined it would be.

Motivation at work means improved career because you feel better, accomplish more, have high quality work, get promotions, raises, and have a happier boss.
