How to gain more confidence so you will go after your dreams

Here is how to gain more confidence so you will go after your dreams. Confidence is something that is a learned skill. This is a skill that is taught to us from the time we are children. As children as we experience achievements and setbacks in our life, we find that there are a couple of reactions we will receive. Those reactions are anger, praise, understanding, empathy etc.
These reactions will be what form the confidence we have as adults. Some of us naturally have a higher level of self-confidence. This is something that is based on our personalities.

Overall, both the confidence we receive from outer influences and the natural self-confidence we have, creates the overall confidence we have in our adult lives. This is also what will help us to go after our dreams.
The thing to remember is that no matter where your confidence level is at, regardless of your childhood or personality, we can bring that confidence level up. Here are five steps that make that easier to do.
Step #1
This is the step that you take in the smallest amount at one time. This step is in realizing that no matter what has happened before the minute you are reading this, it is in the past. The past is something that you cannot change and you cannot control. Therefore, it is time to make positive decisions from now and in the future.
Everyone makes mistakes!
Keep this in your mind, so that when you make a mistake, it is just that, something that happened in the past.
When you are thinking about the decisions you will make, you will need to keep this in mind. The reason is that if you do not focus on the future, your decisions will be based from your fears and doubts of the past.
Step #2
Next, it will be important to realize that each thing you do, that is good, is a success. Therefore it is a reason to pat you on the back. Confidence and self worth are small acceptances of you.
Again as a child, they take their first step, or say their first word, and then we praise them. Or, if they break a dish, or spill a drink, if they are told it is an accident and we just fix it, then they feel secure that mistakes happen.
On the other hand if that same child is not praised, or is yelled at for spills. Then you find that it s more likely that they will have issues of lack of confidence.
So in step 2, it will be important to recognize the small and large accomplishments you have, and then pat your back and say good job. The more you recognize the good things you do, the more you will realize you can do good things.
Step #3
Now as you have understood that the past is the past, and that praising yourself is good, then the last step is taking the steps to reaching your challenges and goals. If you know that it is ok to make mistakes, and you know you have successes, then there is no reason to worry about the decisions you will make. Well, other than they should be the best decisions you can make to go after your dreams. If you have your confidence levels up, then you will find this will work out just fine.
