First, take a look at the results that you are getting out of life. Sit down and really think about it. What ways can you add that extra degree? Could you read more? Play more? Cook more? Sing more? Laugh more?
Second, once you determine what you can do kick it up a notch, it is time to start implementing on a daily basis.
Here are some great suggestions:
Spend 10 minutes each day focused on one thing - anything you want it to be. This could be ten minutes of learning to sew, ten minutes of cooking skills, ten minutes of anything. If you do this, in a fifteen years, you'll be a bonafide expert. Granted fifteen years is a long time, but you have to start somewhere. This is akin to saving. If you saved $25 a month you would only have $300 at the end of the year, but $300 is better than nothing. So, spend your ten minutes daily focusing on one thing--gardening, cooking, crafting, computer skills, etc.
Spend the last hour before bed planning the next day. The reason this is a great way to get a little bit better is that you'll wake up with confidence and a game plan. These are both important ingredients for a great day, and they help you to be productive and happy. Productivity and happiness are key to being a bit better!
Read one book each month that is geared towards improving some skill or talent. This is not necessarily pleasure reading. This can be a self-help book, a book that teaches a skill, or something else. For example, you could read a book that teaches you how to make balloon animals. Learning skills, even silly ones is a great way to get a bit better.
Spend one hour each week studying up on your career field or industry. This will help you in any number of ways. One you will stay on top of the latest news in your industry, and you will stay up with the field which is critical to having clients. It is a great idea, and because it is your line of work, it should be an interesting hour for you.
Enroll in a free online or live course. There are tons of courses out there, from how to dance to how to build a website. So, enjoy learning new skills and becoming a better, more well rounded person.
These can be found using Google, at local schools, libraries, etc. Not only will you improve yourself, you'll also be able to meet other like-minded people to share your passion with!!
You can be a little bit better with just a few minutes a day. Take some time to nurture your talents and your techniques, and you will find that you love the improvements in yourself.
