accountant37004113.jpgBeing a better employee at work is what everyone wants to be. With economic times being hard and work being slow; a lot of people find themselves struggling to stay motivated at work. Most times we lose are motivation because of what is going on in our personal lives and in our homes lives. And sometimes, we lose motivation because we are overwhelmed at work.

So what can you do to keep yourself motivated and work to become a better employee and help your company strive to be the best? Here are some examples and ways that you can use in your workplace.

When you arrive to work, leave your personal life and home life at the door. It is a lot easier said and then done; but 50% of employees that do, accomplish more at work and stay more motivated. When you do leave your personal and home life at the door, you will be able to find yourself being able to concentrate more and your work and accomplish more. We all have times when our personal life does step in at work. If this happens, take your break and walk away from work for your allotted time and resolve or work on what needs to be done at home. This could be checking on your children, making a doctor's appointment or checking your bank accounts. Walking away will also give you privacy from your other co-workers. Keeping your personal life to a minimum at work will increase your thought process and your motivation.

We all have more than one task that we have to do for our employees and prioritizing it can be a challenge. Writing down every morning or every night before you leave, what you have to accomplish for the day. Once you have it listed, prioritize what is more important and what needs to be done first. Doing this will give you some sense of relief and when you are able to cross things off your list, you will find yourself more motivated to do more on your list and more quickly and efficiently. Be sure to do your work correctly and timely. Most employers would rather have you do your work right and at a slower pace, than quickly and have it done wrong. When you do a task wrong, it could take a lot of time for not only you to fix, but other employees may have to help you. This can be a lot of time and money spent on things that could have been done right the first time around.

Working long hours at work and having a busy personal and family life can be draining and you can find yourself losing all your motivation and hitting a wall. Be sure to pace yourself in your professional and personal life. Some days are going to be harder than others; keeping your head above water is the hardest part. Plan your week and know what you need to do on each day. This will help you to stay happy and motivated at work and will help you to focus at work. If you can find a balance and schedule your personal life and professional life, you will find yourself accomplishing more and your attitude will improve also.
Having a good attitude at work can be hard at times and we all have those days where quiet is good. Being focused too much at work can come across as your better than everyone else or you know how to do your job better. Make sure you take the time to get to know your co-workers and work with them more. Having a good attitude will keep you motivated and will show your employer a positive side of yourself.
