How to improve your thoughts, so you can be more successful in your life? Being successful takes several factors. One of the most important factors of being successful is having positive thoughts about you. This is not simply self-esteem either. You need to be able to have overall positive thoughts in your life.

Therefore, in order to improve your thoughts about yourself, your actions and your life, you will need to work out a plan that will increase your positive thoughts daily. Not only daily, but in circumstances that you would not have been able to have positive thoughts in, in the past.

Improving thoughts, especially when the thoughts you would have normally had are negative, will take a little time and work. This is a pattern that you will need to build. Here is a plan that can help you change that process.

#1: Begin by getting up every day and telling yourself that today is going to be a good day.

#2: Now as you are thinking about what you are going to be doing that day, realize that those things are just what you will be doing. They are not bad, they may not be good, but they are activities that you will be doing. When you are not feeling like you want to engage in those things that you have planned for that day, it is a good idea to think about those things in a more positive manner.

For example: If your job is to stand on your feet all day and help people at the cash register. You may have woken up this morning with sore legs. This does not mean that you need to have poor thoughts about work. Instead you can look at it as going to work is the action you do to be busy, to make money, and to help other people. You can also see that the pain you feel is simply that your muscles in your legs are getting stronger.

#3: Now go one step further. Can you think about what you will be doing that day, and find positives in the actions.

For example: Taking the same situation above, you can see that you will make money, and the benefit of that money is? You could also use that time to see how many other people you can help have a better day.

Improving your thoughts, also means thinking about other people. The reason for this is you will find that life has a much larger meaning when you think about other people's well-being and feelings.

#4: After you have started waking up and thinking better feelings about your activities, it will be time to learn some fast positive thinking. This is for those times that life just throws you that curve ball and you need to react in a positive manner. The best way to do this is to think about the curve ball with a few logical ideas.

  • Whatever the problem is, it is temporary.
  • You can handle what ever came your way.
  • It is an old but wise saying "Find the silver lining"
  • When the situation you are facing is one that really does not have any good in it, then think about if there is any good for anyone else in it. For example: A close family member dying will not feel good in any way. However, if they died because they were sick, maybe they will feel better now. The thing is that those types of situations are hard, and the natural morning process needs to happen. So the best thing you can do is know that it is ok to feel bad.
  • Look at the entire situation. For example: You are at a new job, you made a rather large mistake and you feel like you might get fired. In most circumstances when you look at this situation, if you take it a part you will see what the other people see. They see you are new. This has happened before. They may not be happy about it. However they know that they will train you not to do it again and hopefully you will not.

This is a plan that you can take to work though your negative feelings, and gain positive feelings and thoughts, so that you can be more successful in your life. The steps however begin and end with you. It will be up to you to change your thinking.
