How to let the unexpected act as your motivator
"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." These words ring true as the uncertainty of life lingers its surprising nature around every corner. Knowing that the unexpected will undoubtedly visit often in varying degrees of seriousness makes life worth living and experiencing. Imagine if we knew every action that was to take place before it happened. That would completely obliterate the reason for living. Living would somehow become a silly re-enactment of some ancient play that was stored into the memory banks of our minds. But this is not so. Life is spontaneous. Here are some tips on how to let the unexpected act as your motivator.
1. Be prepared for everything. This will motivate you to learn as much as possible. With the knowledge that you gain, you will become confident in your abilities and will take the experiences that come your way with excitement and vigor. Knowing that you are capable of handling whatever comes your way motivates you to move forward and test yourself against the unexpected.

2. Live your life in a way that you are ready to go with the opportunities that come your way. Don't be afraid to dream big and jump at the opportunity to make a part of that come true. No dream comes all in one piece. We have to slowly build it one piece at a time, always waiting and working for the next one to come along and challenge us. In those moments of challenge, we choose to succeed and face the unknown with faith of the final outcome. With these successes, it helps us to find strength to continue onward and face the unknown with excitement.
3. Think of life as a privilege. Look at your hand and feet and take deep breaths and walk around outside. Can you see the trees in front of you? Look at the sky and feel the warm sun on your face. Or maybe it is a cold breeze. Whatever the situation, feel your surroundings and sense your environment. It is some miracle to experience life. If you can teach yourself that simple truth, taking the unexpected will become an excitement that you yearn for every day and live on. Life takes on an air of certainty when a man can admit to himself that life is better when he faces it on his feet.
4. Let the hard times motivate you to press forward and make the best of any situation. Be the one to choose how you feel inside. Take what has happened and use it to arm yourself for the future that has many more experiences for you to see and feel. Knowing that life is precious and something to be prized is another factor that helps a person take on the unknown with confidence. Starting a career or a family are things that people choose that are life choices that are just chalk filled with the unexpected. Pain and happiness occur in every family and success and failure happens in every career. Choosing either of them most certainly guarantees that you will experience these things, they are broad enough that the unexpected are still the victors over clever planning from any man.
Letting the unexpected act as your motivator will bring satisfaction from the sheer joy of experiencing life. Taking the pain and joy with the failure and success is worth it when we accept that we are better people when we try to be our best, no matter what the experience was.
