It's easy for anyone to lose focus and motivation to work hard. If you don't work for a company that you believe in, it can be even harder to find the motivation to work. Here are some helpful tips on how you can improve work focus:

Tip # 1 - Remove the distractions
Find out what is causing you to lose motivation. Distractions always cause people to lose focus at work. If you share an office with someone that listens to loud music, ask them to wear headphones. Do you surf the internet instead of focusing on your work? Examine what the distractions are and find ways to remove them from your work life.
Tip # 2 - Improve burn-out
If you have recently worked on a large project, it may be difficult to commit yourself to your job. Burn-out is common for almost everyone. The unproductive days you may have been experiencing lately may be a direct result of burn-out. Take some time off work and re-charge your body. Take time to just relax, don't think about work, don't think about household projects, just go outside and lie in your hammock and read a book. Do something that will get your mind off everything and just focus on yourself for a little while.

One of the best ways to re-gain your work focus and improve your motivation is to clean your office. Everyone works differently but everyone works better if their workstation is organized and they are able to find things easily. Simply cleaning your desk may give you a small boost and this can give you new enthusiasm for your job.

Your office environment has a big impact on the way you perform your job duties. If everyone around you is experiencing burn-out, it is only likely that you will too. To combat the negative energy in the office, start exercising at work in the middle of the day. This can give you a much-needed energy boost and your positive energy will radiate to others. A simple way to create a fun office environment is to start listening to relaxing music while you work. For many people, music provides them with stress relief and it helps them to become more productive. Bring some headphones so you don't bother your co-workers. Make friends with your co-workers as well. Having people you care about in the same office will give you an extra incentive to come to work.
Tip # 5 - Re-locate
Anyone that is truly struggling with their job may need to search for a new one. Sometimes all you may need is a change of scenery and new challenges to get motivated about working. Ask your boss if you can work outside on a laptop once and awhile. Working in the sunlight will do you some good and it can help many people focus better on their work. It also gives you a burst of creativity since you aren't always stuck in the same area day after day.
Tip # 6 - Set Goals
One of the best ways to get motivated about working is to set some goals for yourself. Know what your limits are and make sure the goals you set are attainable. To give yourself some extra motivation to achieve your goals, use the reward system. Decide on a big and small reward you will get when you achieve your different goals. The reward must be desirable, like a weekend to Las Vegas or a weekend at a spa. Some smaller rewards could include things like the purchase of a new book or video game or a luncheon with some of your friends.
