Learning to be Happy no Matter What

Life throws some hard turns at all of us. Somedays we feel that things are up and other days we find that things are down. Just look at the stockmarket these days-one day you are doing ok and the next you have lost everything you ever owned. Friends and family come and go, and sometimes real tragedy comes into our lives.

It can be difficult to keep a good attitude when life just seems to be getting you down. Responsibility, debt, work, and family difficulties often work against our feelings of happiness and joy. Many of us feel like we never got the chance to do what we really wanted to in life, and many of us feel like we let our best opportunities slide by us. If you find that you are rarely happy in all of the mess and stress of life, you need to learn how to be happy no matter what comes. This is a very difficult thing to do, but with some positive thinking and work you can learn to enjoy life most of the time. Learning to be happy all the time no matter what is something that takes a lifetime to learn how to do, but you can begin now by following some basic tips.
Don't take things too seriously. Although this can be very difficult when you have serious responsibilities and are caring for other people, it can be very difficult to feel like you can laugh about anything. However, you need to realize that not everything in life is in your control. You can't control things like disease, accidents, changes in history, and changes in the economy. You can only do what you can within your power and let the rest go. If you don't learn to give up the things that you can't control you will always feel crushing stress.
Enjoy the good times and all good things in life. Life is too short to worry all the time. Although you will have hard times, it is very important that you celebrate the good times you have. They can sometimes be few and far between, so realize when you have a good time and make the most of it. Create positive memories so that when you have trouble you will have something to remember and to fall back on.
Make good decisions in life as soon as you can. Although you cannot control everything, if you make wise decisions when you can you will not have to face as many difficult times in the future. Try to make plans for whatever you would like to do with your life and pursue them. Don't just try to do things without a definite plan or knowledge of what you are doing. Avoid serious debt or legal problems. Realize that your decisions now will deeply affect your life in the future.
Another very important thing to do is to appreciate the people around you. Look for the bright side of things and take time everyday to think about what is good in your life. You will always find something good to believe in. Even if things seem really bad you will find something good in your life that will put everything in perspective. This is especially important in life-to look for a larger perspective on things. Life should be something to be enjoyed, and if you aren't enjoying yours you probably need realize what it is all about again. When things get really bad you need to realize that life is about happiness.
