Overcoming low self-esteem and confidence

concernedman19185284.jpgWe are all faced with situations and people that we struggle with and find ourselves not feeling up to our self-worth and self-confidence. You may have a situation where you look different or act different and it makes you feel out of place. When you have situations like this happen, you have to find the good and positive side in it; finding that point is the hardest challenge for anyone in a low self-esteem situation. Here are some ideas that you can use in your life to keep you feel positive and that will bring up your self-esteem and confidence high.

Surround yourself with friends and families that will help you to keep you self-esteem and confidence high. When you have negative friends or family in your life, you will find that you are focusing on the negativity also. Be open and talk with your friend or family and tell them how you are feeling and how they are affecting you. They might not want to hear it, so make sure you approach the subject with caution and let them know that you care and want them to care more about themselves. When you do surround yourself with positive people, you will find their happiness rubbing off on you and you will want to be happier and do more to make others feel that same way.

If your low self-esteem comes from the way you feel about your body, write down specifically what it is. List down the different things you can do to make changes in your life to overcome what you feel. You may be overweight and want to lose the extra weight. Start with listing ways that you can lose that extra weight and ways you might try changing. You have to remember, that you are who you are and no one but yourself can change it. Focus on changing your eating habits, eat healthier items for snacks and drink water or juices instead of soda pop. If you can find time, work out. It has been proven that exercise helps your body release the bad toxins in your body. After you are done working out and re-hydrating yourself, you are building up new and stronger toxins that will help you find that stronger self-confidence.

Know you are and what you want out of life. Knowing who you are will help you to have great self-esteem and much higher confidence within yourself. Writing down things you want to try will help you to know what you are interested in. Once you have listed what you know you will like, list other things that you may want to try. Stepping outside of your comfort zone will help you to find more things you like and will introduce to new people and new friends. Be willing to try something new. If you are terrified of heights and one of your friends invites you to go skydiving, take that chance and go. When you accomplish your fears, your self-esteem and confidence will become higher.

Don't change who you are. You are the only one who knows what and what you are going to do with your life. You don't always have to do what others think you should do. Trying new things and seeing more places will help you to trust yourself and will give you confidence within yourself. When your family and friends see that you are confident and have high self-esteem, they will see that you are happy and they will want to support you. Invite your family and friends to go with you so that they may see what makes you happy. You find that they person likes it also and starts doing the same activity with you.
