The process of improving yourself should come from within you. Looking deep in your soul and study what you want to change and improve. There is not a quick way to change habits, attitudes and behaviors. There must be a strong desire, dedication, motivation and perseverance for success. Sometimes we encounter oppositions within ourselves or from people around us.
Your life is full of opportunity to improve yourself. Find deep in your heart the reasons why you need changes in your life. The desire to make yourself happy should definitely be worth fighting all the oppositions that are around you. Observe the habits and life of other people you meet at work, at church, at the park, at the doctor, on your street, on TV and even from celebrities.
Watch how people mingle with each other, how they act and react to comments but most importantly how they treat those around them. Notice the way people talk to each other soft or loud, how they respond to the tone of voice they are speaking to. Observe the reactions of an angry person and of the one that is calm and relax. See how you feel in any of those situation (you want to be the one yelling or the one yelled at, you want to be the one that is calm and relax and who gets along with anyone). Next time you find yourself around people, you will be more conscious to know which attribute you want to have and which ones you want to avoid.
Acquire the good ones from everyone you came to know. Change the bad habits with some good ones.
You could also come up with your own self improvement. Who knows yourself better than you? You know what needs to improve and the steps you need to take to change those habits and behaviors. You may have friends and family telling you through their attitude or their saying how they feel about you and what change they want to happen in you. Be a good listener and great observer. Don't let disappointment and discouragement get in your way of wanting to change and keep up with improving yourself. Not attaining your goal of being a better person right away is ok as long as you don't give up. It needs a lot of work and persistence to achieve anything in this world. Observe yourself and see the good in you. Praise yourself for all the good changes you made and continue to persevere until the end.
The desire to change and to improve must be strong to resist any opposition coming from people around you, family members and/or friends. Your life will be so much better and you will be much happier when you decide to make changes in your behavior and your attitude. There is hope to be someone better.
