According to a recent poll, employers were asked "What are the first questions that you ask when looking for an individual's qualifications?" The most common responses of questions asked at every interview were: "Can you do the job?" and "Why do you want the job?" Employers know that you need the money that a job will give them, what they are looking for is something more. They are looking to see if you have the motivation to accomplish the particular job that you are applying for.

Stay ahead of the relationship game...
Marriage and other personal relationships require a great deal of motivation. You cannot expect to have a successful relationship with someone if you do nothing to continually feed or otherwise foster that relationship. Motivation is an important attribute to have in a relationship because many times you will have to find the motivation to resolve a conflict by compromising or to apologize when you are wrong. Just as with anything in life it is easier to just cruise through uncomfortable situations. However, if you are motivated to make your relationships happy and healthy you will not only make those around you happier but you will find that they can make the lows in your life feel a little higher.
Stay ahead of your personal goals...
Planning - Personal goals can be the trickiest of all the goals that you set because no one is in control of your goals but yourself. You must make the effort to plan what it is that you want to accomplish in your personal life and be willing to stick to the goals that you set.
Personal reward system - Do not underestimate the power of the reward system. You need to have a personal rewards system in place if you are going to stay motivated to get anything done. Those whose personal goals are of a religious nature may look forward to rewards in the next life. Others may find it more beneficial to reward themselves before thy die and use sweats or a night out with friends as their reward.
Emotional maturity - You can be very intelligent and well educated but if you do not have emotional intelligence you are going to have a hard time getting ahead in life. Emotional intelligence includes attributes of tact, sensitivity, charity and humor. Set personal goals to get ahead of the game by improving the attributes that say the most about you. Decide what attribute you would most like to posses and motivate yourself to continual improvement in those areas of your life.
