Tips for being motivated to clean your house

Does your house look like it has been hit by a tornado? Is your house so messy that you don't even feel like cleaning it? Don't get discouraged - there are a couple of ways that you can get motivated to clean your house! With a little motivation, you'll be able to get your house clean! Here are a couple of tips for being motivated to clean your house:

1) Set goals for yourself: For many people, goals are a great way to get motivated. You can make weekly or daily goals to help yourself get motivated to clean your house! If you are especially having a hard time getting motivated to start cleaning, then you should set daily goals. These daily goals could focus on cleaning a specific room in the house, or a list of specific tasks. For added motivation, you can make a list of these goals or make a chart. Then, place the written goals in a place where you will see them often - which will further remind you and motivate you to accomplish your daily goals!

2) Distribute the work among family members: If you are having a hard time getting motivated to clean because you are so overwhelmed with the task at hand - distribute the work! Give your spouse, roommate, or children some household chores to do! Sometimes merely distributing the work among family members can make the task of cleaning seem more manageable! As a result, you will have a more feasible, realistic cleaning task, which will help you to be better motivated to clean your house!

3) Invite company over to your house: If you are not motivated to clean your house for yourself and your family members, maybe the presence of guests will give you an added motivation! Invite friends or extended family members over for a visit, a meal, or an evening of games to help get you motivated! Sometimes the pressure of having company over will help you to quickly and efficiently clean your house! Remember, though, you can't just take the messy objects from one room and "hide them away" in a room where the company won't see them! This "cheating" tactic defeats the purpose of getting motivated to clean! Instead, take the opportunity of company coming over to really help you to get motivated to fight the disorder - once and for all!

4) Go buy new cleaning products or tools: Purchasing new cleaning products and tools can sometimes also help you to get motivated to clean! This motivation can either come from the excitement of trying new cleaning gadgets, or from feeling the need to "get your money's worth" out of the new cleaning products that you've just bought. You don't need to spend a lot of money on these new products (unless you want to or need to!). Sometimes even having a new toilet brush or a new bottle of Windex can help you to get started!

There are many different ways to get motivated to clean your house. These are just a few suggestions which hopefully will help you to get motivated! If none of these work, just remember that the more dust, mold, filth, and dirt you have in your house, the more likely you or your family members will be to get sick! There is also a higher chance for people to have different allergic reactions if they are continually exposed to high levels of dust, mold, human dander, pet dander, and cockroach droppings. In addition, a dirty house will attract more insects and rodents, which could also bring about poor health in family members. If anything, the concern for your family's health should be a great motivation for you to start cleaning your house today!
