Tips for getting organized
When you start to feel like your life is being overrun with chaos, it is time to get organized. But where do you start? Where do you even begin to get yourself organized? You have so much stuff, and where do you put it all? The following are some great tips for getting organized:
Tip one: Reduce and simplify. If you keep things you do not need, then you will never be able to get organized because you will never have enough room for all of the things you need. So, the first tip for getting organized is to get rid of all of the crap you do not need. Start your organization off with getting rid of anything you haven't used in the last year. Literally, even if it is measuring cups. Just toss them. You will have more peace having them gone and having to buy them again then storing them forever. Plus, you will probably not be able to find things once you do need them, and this means that you will end up buying it anyway.

Tip two: Put things were you use them. If you use your kitchen cleaning products in the kitchen, then store them under the sink in the kitchen. If you use toilet paper in the bathroom, does it make any sense to keep it in the basement? No! So, to get organized, your best bet is to put everything where you use it. Put your shoes by the door if you do not wear them inside. Put your glassware in the dining area.
Tip three: Put like things together. One of the best ways to stay organized is to have things that go together, together. If you have all of your cleaning supplies in one place, all of your clothes in one place, games in one place, shoes, dishes, memory things, etc. you will be able to find the things you want when you need them. So, make sure you have all of your tools in one place, etc. Your life will be easier, and you will be able to find things when you need them, and everything will have a place.
Tip four: Label. If you have items you do not use often, such as Christmas decorations, you are not going to get rid of them, but you are going to want to be able to find them easily when you need them. So, get some of those plastic boxes, and put your things in them. Then, use labels to identify them. If you clearly mark your stored items, you will be able to find them easily.
Tip five: Have help. Have others go through much of your things. You have sentimental ties to things. So, have someone else go through your closet and get rid of things you do not wear, or out of style clothes, or things that do not fit you. Have someone else clean out your storage, your cupboards, etc. Other's perspective is a great way to keep what you need, get rid of what you don't, and reduce and simplify effectively.
If you really do not know where to start with organizing, simply pull everything off your shelves, out of your cupboards, out from under the beds, etc. and start from scratch. Make a big pile of your stuff them spend some time going through it. First determine if it is a keep or a toss, then determine how often it is used, and what category it should go into. Once you sort into categories you can sub sort. This will help you get organized fast.
