What is a life coach and how do they work?
A coach, by definition, is a person who encourages and motivates you to become better at the activity they are coaching. A soccer coach, for example teaches soccer skills to those they are coaching in order for them to become better at soccer, more successful, and to win more often than lose. A life coach is just like a soccer coach, only instead of teaching you soccer skills, and encouraging you to do your best out on the soccer field, they teach life skills, and encourage and motivate you in life. A life coach is someone who specifically looks at certain areas of your life with you, and advises on how to improve on them so you can be happier, more successful, and better at life.
When should you consider seeing a life coach?
There are many times in life when you could seek the advice of a life coach. For example, if you have come to a stalemate in your career, if you do not know how to progress, if you have failed relationships, if you are feeling depressed, if need to make some real changes in your life and do not know how to start. There are plenty of circumstances that warrant using a life coach.
If you could benefit from someone encouraging and motivating you to do better, be better, and try harder, and if you are willing to take advice and learn how to make changes, then a life coach can help you. They can help you to find a new, more effective way of thinking. but they can help you to come to terms with outdated modes of thinking and help you to move forwards towards new goals.
What exactly does a life coach do?
A life coach helps you improve in areas you need improving in. While life coaches do undoubtedly have an overall effect on your life, most will concentrate on a specific area. For example, if you were recently divorced, and need help getting up your confidence and trust of the opposite gender so you can date again. Or, they could help you with your career, help you find the right vocation, that would make you happiest, etc. A life coach is going to assess your needs, and help put together a motivational plan to get you where you want to be when you want to be there.
