Ways to eliminate stress and thus be more productive

Stress is a word so many of people know. It's affecting so many lives in so many ways. It doesn't matter whether you run a business, work for a boss, or stay at home. There are so many aspects of life that can make our lives stressful and unproductive: such as a long day of work, going home to balance check books, and attend to children and show support to a spouse or other family members. So here are some ways to help you eliminate stress and be more productive with your life.

Have a hobby?
Is there something you love to do? If not, find a hobby. Whether it's hiking, gardening, or simply going for a walk, you need something that would take your mind off work and things that are stressing you out. Joining a group of people in your neighborhood that have the same hobby is a great idea also. You'll eliminate stress by making new friends and have great fun. It's good for your mind and body also. This will help reduce stress and increase your level of productivity.

Good eating habits:
It's time to ditch the fast food drive thru and make a quick stop at the grocery stores. Pick up a bag of fruits or a make yourself salad. They are cheaper than the fast food restaurants. They also have nice sandwiches ready to go. Make sure to eat food that have a lot of Vitamin C and B. They are known to be used up a lot when our bodies get stress, so it's time to replace all those nutrients. Wholegrain foods are rich in B vitamins and are known to help your body cope with stress. Try to eat small meal at a time. Eating fruits and vegetables is always important to include in your diet.

Drink lots of water:
Drinking too much soda packed with caffeine and not enough water causes dehydration. The average person needs to drink between 1.5 and 2 liters of water a day, a glass of water in the morning is a great way to start the day off.
Spend time with others:
If you've had a stressful day at work, try to make your time at home less stressful by doing productive things with you family. Forget the dishes and all the cleaning that needs to be done. Gather the family and go for a walk, or put in a good movie, make some popcorn and sit down and relax. If you live alone and have no family nearby, call a non-profit organization and see if you can come in to volunteer. Helping others is a great way to de-stress yourself, by bringing more meaning, increased self esteem and stronger relationships to your life. You'll make great friends and be productive at the same time forget about all the things that are making your life stressful.

Talk about it:
Talking about why you're stress can help you eliminate stress and open the door for you to do more productive things with your life. It doesn't have to be a therapist or a professional. Finding a good friend to talk to or just talking to a parent can help too. You'll realize by talking about what's making you stress, that there are many people out there that have the same problems and yet they are still going about in there lives. And you can too.

Try these ideas and you should be able to eliminate stress and be able to live a very happy and productive life. If you feel these are not helping you, make sure to talk to your doctor to see if you have any health problems that is causing the stress.
