What slight adjustments can you change in your life to be happier

It is amazing to notice that the little things we do in our lives cause us the most pain. Sweating the small stuff really can make life unbearable because the list of small things becomes an overwhelming vat of stress that slowly tips and spills through the cracks of our being. Wow, how about taking a little control and balancing that "vat" of stress. Let's take into account that the only reason those things are building up as stress is because we perceive them to be such. Making slight adjustments can change your life and make it happier.

Taking control of your thoughts can make life easier even if the task at hand remains equally difficult as before. The mountain still needs to be climbed and the work to do it is still what it has always been. How you think about yourself and what you are doing will slowly manifest itself into your actions and your character. In order to fill your thoughts with positive force, it needs to be edified with good things. When your mind has been edified, it can be exercised to motivate you to make your own life happier. For example, a long distance runner will fail if he tells himself that he hurts really bad. The fact is, no matter what he tells himself, the pain is terrible and quite frankly sucks. The mind, however, is stronger than pain. The successful long distance runner has taught his mind to numb the pain and to continue forward knowing that success is one step closer. Training yourself to think this way in everyday life can help you overcome major obstacles that will most definitely come your way. Knowing that you can endure anything that comes against you will make life a happier experience.

Removing bad habits from your lifestyle is another way to make your life a little happier. Whether you are addicted to certain behaviors, substances, or anything becomes a burden in that must be carried. In order to remove a bad habit forever, it has to be replaced with something to fill the hole. Otherwise, reverting back to it will become a frequent occurrence. This will discourage further efforts and be a complete loss. Choosing habits that better your life and improve your character will make you happier as it slowly manifests itself into every part of your life. Beating a bad habit is always going to be hard. Taking an attitude that even hard things can't beat will motivates the discouraged to try harder and to press forward in their efforts to take control and be their own person. Habits such as smoking and drinking are very visual habit that causes severe problems in peoples' lives. Drinking causes emotional unstableness and a lack of judgement. Smoking causes dependancy for comfort and, along with drinking, causes severe life-altering disease. Quitting these habits may seem small to anyone from the outside, but for that person, it is a momentous decision that could change their lives to a course full of self control and confidence.

Take a look at your life and think about the things that don't add to your happiness. What are they doing that brings you down? How do you bring yourself down? In return, ask yourself how you can improve on what you are already doing to motivate change in your life. If you can work to find these answers for yourself, you will not falter in finding a middle ground of happiness greater than you had before.
