- Outside meals. There are a lot of fun ways to dinner outside in the summer, and making dinner together in the great outdoors is always a fun date idea. If you life near a canyon or sand dune, or anywhere that you can build a fire and enjoy a fire meal, do it. You can make tin foil dinners, where you cook hamburger, potatoes, and other veggies in coals by wrapping them in tin foil. You can cook meals over an open flame fire on a spit, or over coals with hot dog roasters etc. If your culinary skills are not grand, then simply get fried chicken and the fixings, and eat them picnic style at a park or up a canyon. Or, BBQ, it is fun, easy, and almost always tastes good. Meals eaten outside are always more fun. So, take the time to plan a fun meal out of doors, just make sure you plan something else to do as well. For example, you could play Frisbee, or croquet, or something else you can do outside in addition to dinner.
- Movies in the park.
Movies are always fun on dates, especially if you have been dating for a while, as it can be relaxing and give you a chance to cuddle up for some entertainment. Put a little twist to your movie by watching it outside. Create your own drive in, go to a drive-in, or simply find a projector and watch a movie projected onto a sheet. Sometimes in the summer movies are shown in city parks, usually free of charge. That is a great way to enjoy yourself and see a fun movie, new or old. In addition, it is a great way to enjoy the warmer evenings you get in the summer. If you do not have a projector, or can't find a movie showing outside, you can always simply use an extension cord to hook up a television and bring it outdoors. - Water fights.
Anything water is fun in the summer for a date. Not only is it active, but since the summer is warm, it is a good way to play, stay cool, stay hydrated, etc. You can fill up water balloons and hit up your favorite park for a good old fashioned water fight. You can go to the lake, a river, or even a stream to play in the water, cool off, and have fun. A date to the beach can be a fun, free date in the summer. Just be sure you spend the time there together, whether you body surf, boogie board, or surf. Or, take a magazine and layout by the water talking about celebrity gossip. Water is fun, so make it a date.
