Dates for a dollar or less
Dating does not have to be expensive, most people that stop dating after marriage do so because it gets too expensive. When you want to continue dating, and still have a great time, but do it on a budget, try some of these dates that are a dollar or less:
1. Play Ms. Pacman: Instead of going to a movie, go to the lobby of the theater and play the arcade games. If you are good enough this is a date that could last a long time. Obviously this date will only work if you are an avid player, and if your partner enjoys the same activity, or enjoys watching you eat dots, but if that is you, this is really fun.

2. Go to a dollar movie on a discount night: many dollar theaters have one night a week, such as Tuesdays when they offer movies at half price. So, you can spend only one dollar and have a fun date. It will be an older movie, but it is still a movie, and if it gets really boring, make out!
3. Go for a hike: hiking can be really fun. It gives you a chance to exercise, get outside, and see some awesome nature. Find a good place to go with interest such as animals, streams, lakes, or waterfalls, and maybe even pack a picnic and hike in.
4. Play games: a great date idea is to play games with friends or neighbors. Board games are inexpensive and fun. You can play for hours and it does not cost you anything other than the original purchase.
5. Go to a civic center: there are some fun things to do that do not cost anything at your local civic and community centers. Often there are art shows, musical programs, etc. So, go and get some culture or class for free!
6. Go to a grocery store for ice cream: A lot of people enjoy getting ice cream together, but it can get really expensive, however, at most grocery store deli's there is a soft serve machine and you can usually get a cone for 50 cents or less. So, take a walk around the store, enjoy an ice cream cone, walk hand in hand, and have a great time.
7. Work out: A nice jog together, or a bike ride can qualify as a date, and is essentially free. It is also a great time to get in shape, and have some great conversations. So, throw on your work out clothes and go for a walk to start if you are too out of shape to start out with a run, but get out there and have fun. You can also run in scenic areas, river trails, etc.
8. Make a video: you can grab your camcorder, borrow one from a friend if you don't have one, and have a great time acting out your favorite scenes from a movie.
9. Go to the library: often times your local library has movies you can check out, books on tape, or music to listen to. So, get a library card and enjoy the fact that you can see new movies and not pay movie store prices.
10. Have a night in: you can really just spend the night in and watch a television show, pop some popcorn, or give each other some massages and have a good time.
