People have found that social networking sites provide them with a great opportunity to get in touch with their high school classmates. By nature, humans are social creates. We like to interact with one another and we love to find out what are old classmates are up to.

Even if you weren't a big fan of high school, you might still get a kick out of getting in touch with old friends. This can give you the opportunity to see what the class clown is doing or what the popular cheerleader is doing. It's also fun to see which one of your classmates has gone on to accomplish big things like doctorate degrees.

The internet provides us with a great opportunity to get in touch with old friends. They are normally pretty accurate and this is a great place to start when you are trying to get the contact information for an old classmate.

Join a social networking site and start searching for your old classmates. You can search using basic contact information or detailed information like an email address. Facebook and MySpace provide you with the opportunity to search for anyone that went to the same high school as you. You can then perform a detailed search and find people graduated from high school the same year you did. Social networking is free and it is the best way to find old classmates.

Once you sign-up for a social networking site, search for your classmates using your existing contacts. Normally your friends will have a few people that you already know and you can add them as your contact. This is a simple way to find old friends. If you don't like doing all the searching, you can join Classmates.com or another web site that will put you in touch with old high school classmates. When you join Classmates.com, you will need to pay a monthly fee to use their web site.

Classmates.com can help you find your old friends that aren't on social networking sites. Since some people aren't into all the internet web sites, it can be difficult to find them online; this is when it really pays off to use Classmates.com. They perform searches and have connections to keep the latest contact information on their web site.

Search for a blog or a dedicated alumni site. These sites are focused on keeping old classmates in contact with one another. These sites are extremely useful at keeping you in the loop with class reunions and social gatherings. They often post old pictures from the yearbook and pictures taken from people you went to high school with. This is a fun way to re-connect with old friends and remember your high school days.
Another way to find your old high school friends is to do a phone search. Pull out your yearbook and look for their phone number that they wrote down. You can call number to see if their parents still live there and if they would pass along your information to your old friend. You can use a phone lookup company to locate your friend for you using this phone number, but it can get pretty expensive. This is a great way to re-connect with your old friends and build new friendships.
