Getting through daily tasks to strengthen your relationships
Every day we have tasks that we have to get completed. Some days are so full and busy that we aren't able to get all our tasks done because we either run out of time or get distracted and lose our motivation. Staying on task can be difficult at times. When we are stressed out and thinking about other things, our family and those close to us are often sacrificed. We neglect to spend quality time with them or we only give them a moment or two, hardly enough affection to show love. Follow some of these simple steps to keep yourself on task and focus throughout the day and build your relationships:
Write down what tasks you need to complete for the day. List them in the order you want to achieve them. Once you have them written done, focus and get them done. It may take extra time to do a certain task, keep this in mind for when you make your list of items. Sometimes starting with a task you don't want to do, will keep you motivated to complete your other tasks. Doing the task that you want to put off until last, may drag your day out and you won't complete as many tasks. If you can do the one you don't want to first, you will find yourself able to complete a lot more tasks throughout the day. Ask your family members to help you with your daily tasks so you can get done faster and work on spending quality time with them.

Set a goal to when you are going to finish your tasks. Your goal can be a large goal or can be a mini goal. More people have found that when they set a mini goal, they are able to get more done and stay more motivated throughout the day. For example, you want to wake up at 6:00 am everyday and walk or run for 30 minutes for 2 weeks. You have made your goal, now you need to accomplish your goal. Give yourself a reward at the end of your goal. You have gotten up for 2 weeks and walked for 30 minutes. Give yourself a reward by taking one day off or by buying some new walking or running shoes. After you have met your mini goal, set a new one and work towards a long term goal. You could make your long term goal running a half marathon or a full marathon. You can reward yourself with not only accomplishing running a marathon, but you can reward yourself with a mini vacation. Keep your goal within reach and something that you want to succeed.
As you are completing your daily tasks, take the time to take some break. You may find yourself getting frustrated or overwhelmed. When this happens you will lose your motivation and focus in completing your tasks. Take some time for yourself throughout your tasks. You can do simple things such as stopping and eating your lunch at home or at a restaurant or by sitting down in a store and people watch. Remind yourself that taking a break is not you giving up on yourself; it is giving yourself a break from exhaustion. Plus, you need to take a break for your families sake or you might drive them crazy as you are running around frantically to finish up everything.
Make your tasks and enjoyable and lighthearted. No one likes to run around town all day and paying bills or working 8-10 hours a day and coming home to do more tasks at home; but keeping a positive attitude and making it enjoyable will keep you motivated to finish your tasks. Find the good and positive out of your tasks. You may have to run your pet to the vet and then take your child to the dentist. It can be challenging and hard, but pull the two together. Take your child with you to the vet and let them hold the leash to your pet. This will make them feel important and will take their mind off having to go to the dentist. Keep your attitude positive and a smile on your face and you will see yourself being able to get thru your day and accomplishing your tasks.
