Are there opportunities to volunteer? Whether you are at work, school, a religious setting, or a community project you need to look for ways to volunteer. This will get you out and around people so you can start to see how other people interact and you can learn from them. Just remind yourself that you need to step up and talk too. Don't just sit there like a bump on a log and expect people to come to you. How will people be able to find out that you have amazing talents and other things if they don't even know who you are? Dress appropriate. While you want to have a unique personality and you might express this through the way you dress, you need to know what is socially acceptable and what is not acceptable. You can still wear your bright t-shirts but just know they might not get the reaction you may be hoping for. Just look for ways to boost your confidence by dressing nicely.

Have good manners. You need to have appropriate behaviors in every social situation if you want to make friends and be liked by others. You need to be well-mannered and approachable. Don't push people away and be nice to others even if they aren't nice to you. Be a helpful person in the office so that other people will enjoy working with you. Remember your "please" and "thank-you's" when it comes to be accepted in social situations.
