Doing work doesn't seem like something that can be fun. Chores can be really tedious, but when you group together as a family, you can make this something fun and enjoyable. Working together can bring you closer to one another, teach your children work ethic and help you get work accomplished faster. Here are some tips on how to make the experience of working together something you can look forward to.

One great way to make working together a great experience is to give yourself rewards. It's a great idea to have something positive at the end of a long day of working together. Some ideas of how to do this is to have a fun family night at the end. Cook your children's favorite dinner or desert after your finished. You can also rent or go out to a movie. It's very motivational to be working towards something, and if you do this every time, working together will become something to look forward to. You children will have a positive association with housework. Make sure that everyone's aware of the reward you're going to give yourselves at the end. It doesn't have to be anything large, but even having a little something to look forward to can make the experience great.

Another great way to make working together a positive experience is to give yourselves a smaller type of rewards. Break up your chore time with something fun you like to do. A great way to do this is to play a card game together. For example, if you and your children like to play Uno, you can play, as you clean. A great way to do this and make it motivational is to take a deck of cards and a score pad to every room you clean. Start by all cleaning the room as fast as you can. Give everyone a chore and set a time limit in which you hope to accomplish it. If you tell your kids you can finish in ten minutes, you will all work to hit this goal so that you can get done and play another hand. Every time you finish cleaning a room, sit down in that room and play another hand. You'll be hurrying to finish so quickly, that you'll get done much more quickly and have tons of fun together doing it.

One of the best ways to help your children enjoy work time, and help them feel like they're not being bossed around or made to do things they don't enjoy, is to give them options. You can put a positive spin on the time you have to work together by letting you children choose which jobs they want. All of the jobs need to get done, but if you let your kids, pick which ones they want, it feels very liberating for them. Instead of saying "Empty the dishwasher," you can say "Do you want to empty the dishwasher or mop the floor?" If you approach chore time like this, it will make it much more enjoyable for everyone.

Another way to create a good experience working together is to make sure that everyone's involved. Sometimes it can be difficult to include the younger members of your family because they don't know how to accomplish tasks as well as the older members. Make sure that you don't let this stop them from being involved. The only way to learn is to practice. A good way to involve everyone, is to make a rule that no one leaves until the chores are finished. For example, at the end of dinner, a great rule is that everyone needs to clean until you are completely finished. If you each take a night to clean, than it leaves on their own, and it takes a whole lot longer. Cleaning together will make your family feel more united by coming together to complete a common goal.

Family togetherness can be shared even when cleaning, and if you work together, you'll finish sooner, and have more lime to play together.
