1. Call them out on it. If your neighbor is being too nosy, and telling you how to manage your home, yard, or life, you do not have to listen to them. Instead, you should simply let them know that you are not interested in what they have to say on the matter. You can say something like, "Thanks for the suggestion, but it is my yard, and I will do as I please with it." Asserting your right as the homeowner has a lot of power. They may watch what you do and comment on it, but chances are if you let them know where you stand, they will refrain from telling you how to live your life in your home.

2. Make it difficult for them to be nosy. There are two approaches. You can do things in a way that they can't see what is going on, or you can tell them what you are doing so that there is no room for them to nose about. If you have nothing to hide, then it won't matter. This does not mean you have to be accountable to them, but you can help curb the nosiness by helping them feel informed. They probably think that your choices affect them in some way. Often, a simple explanation will help alleviate their curiosity and get them out of your business.

3. If you have issues with nosy neighbors the options are limited, but the best way you can handle it is to simply live your life the way you want to, and don't worry about what they have to say about it. It can be annoying, but you do not have to answer the phone or the door, or respond to communications from them when they are sticking their nose into your personal business. If your neighbor tries to dictate to you, respectfully but firmly let them know that it is not their life or choice, and to but out.

No one likes a nosy neighbor, but sometimes people just do not realize how nosy they are being. So, let them know, and let them know that you won't tolerate it. Do not humor them. Instead, put your foot down. Let them know that you will live in your home the way you want, and that if they want to spy on you, prepare to see things that are none of their business. Sometimes walking around in your undies for a few days is all it takes to get your nosy neighbor to keep their nose and eyes on their side of the fence.
