Most people have some sort of trouble in a relationship, but not many know where to turn if they need help. Whether you are married, dating and living apart, or dating and living together, more problems will arise if you keep it all bottled up and not talk about it. It is always best to talk about your problems with your significant other that way you both can work through the problem so it can possibly be avoided in the future. There a several people you can turn to in your time of need, you can go to counseling, to your local pastor/preacher, family, friends, go online, or find the book that best suits your problem.

  1. Counselors: There are marriage counselors that can help you to open up and be able to talk about your problems. You can go with your significant other, by yourself, or you can both go individually and then progress to going together. The counselor will work with you both and help you figure out why you are having problems communicating with each other and help to fix that problem.
  2. Pastor/preacher: Most pastors also help with relationship problems. You would be more comfortable talking to your pastor than a complete stranger. They too have the confidentiality that counselors have. They offer advice based on what the bible says and it can be of good help to you and your significant other, whereas counselors give advice on what they are taught in school.
  3. Friends and family: Your family and friends might be able to offer up advice on what they have been through and how they got through it. You most likely have a relationship guru, someone you go to for all your relationship problems, that you can turn to in your time of need. However if your family or friends do not like your significant other they might not be of much help to you.
  4. Internet: The internet provides a lot of things, including relationship advice, if you do not wish to leave your house. For some people that do not trust counselors, go to church, have any family members or friends if they are in a new place, they turn to the internet for help and support. The internet is better than counselors because it is generally cheaper and you are not on a time limit, it can also provide tips on how to quickly romance your significant other to make him/her to forgive you sooner, which can be a plus. The internet is a good place for advice but remember that it is always best to talk to someone who has been through what you are going through, to get the best advice possible.
  5. Books: There are several books you can turn to if you need help in your relationship. You can either purchase the books at your local book store or you can go to the library and check them out. You can get a lot of good advice from books.
If you are having relationship problems communication is always the key. Keep talking through all the problems and you will make it. If you cannot seem to talk to him/her then you should most definitely seek help from any of the above suggestions. You are the only one to know which place would be best for your problems, however your family or friends should be the first place you try unless, as stated earlier, your family does not like your significant other, then you should go to a counselor to get advice. However, if your relationship is having more problems than happy times then you are probably not meant to be together, again only you can assess the problems and know what is best for you.
